Philippine Fashion Coalition
Philippine Fashion Coalition is the first National Business Support Organization (non-stock, non-profit) that will represent the Philippine fashion industry whose missions is to safeguard and protect the rights of Fashion industry professionals, and to promote Filipino culture in all sub-sectors of the fashion industry.
Done in the coalition color of dark blue, the Araw Brooch reflects and represents the deep waters surrounding our thousands of Philippines islands. It symbolizes confidence despite challenges, profound wisodm, stability and unity. Indigenous fabric is also incorporated into the traditonal eight sun rays as the Philippine flag, but interpreted in a half-sun symbol that is meant to show that we are always collaborative and become relevant when complemented and made part of the story, and succeedingly, history.
The brooch is carefully handmade by Gawad Kalinga communities using clay, brass, glass beads, repurposed denim and repurposed handwoven binakol. This brooch serves as the Philippine Fashion Coalition’s fundraising project for research and development of initiatives to strengthen the Philippine Fashion Industry.
Shipping starts September 17.
